MADHOUSE ON THE MOON

In my moon walks
I found a madhouse.
The stars would shine
on its doors at night.

The madhouse, built
far away from earth,
safe from the storms
and hot winds of hell.

Predictions

1. We will marry,
My children will be more like their father,
Than their father was to his own,
My children’s children will be clones,
Literally.

2. I’ll amount to fame over a project
That I didn’t take seriously,
I will be a sham,
And all the cool indie acts will hate me.

3. I’ll be that high school friend you still call,
As a weed connect,
Until one day you’re smoking a joint,
Out on your patio and a cop pulls into your driveway.
You’ll not be smart enough to get out of the ticket,
When they ask who’s selling,
You’ll tell them.

ANIMAL URGE

The scent of attraction
Isn't civilized
Something's inside you
Whether oozing or crystallized
You have to know it's always been in you
And you have to know what
It makes you want to do
The tension builds
Overflowing the lines
From where the sun don't shine
The fluids of satisfaction
Aren't sanitized
Yeah, you get dirty
Ain't that purty?
There's many ways
The urge may manifest
Playing your own game
Full-on fuckfest
Vanilla spatterings
Fetish slatherings
Malignant or benign
And all between and beyond
But the urge is never all the way gone
You don't think about it consciously
Then it will cum to you subconsciously
Anger spitting animal urge
So as it's boxed in
So as it must be purged
You know when you feel the stimuli
When the blood rushes down
It's something you can deny
But why?

Modern Madonna

She suckled at

Her own breast

Because she was

So very Hungry

While her son lay

Meta-Loaf

You found salvation deep within a goldenrod oven
they recited prayers at four hundred degrees
they sprinkled savory things over your sick body
and injected you with aloe and sour milk

You baked reverentially with ketchup slathered over your brain

They smiled as your neurons sizzled
your brain stem twitched
and your skin peeled back like onion on a baked sidewalk

You look so delicious in a recession era
when the robots fail and all we have left
is Mother in a red checkered apron
beaming a transcendental white smile
as she carries you to a table made of clouds

El Castilla

she/I says
fuck you, pay attention to me
this, I am, we are
standing before you

invisible, the voices
never loud enough to be heard above
the tiny hole inside me filled
with screaming, you, you are

oblivious to the delicate flower
of my trembling heart
these frightened bloody clues I leave
spell L-O-V-E. always for you.

Change...

Instead
destruction of self
loss of inspiration
lingering lost
corrupted my destination.

final breaking
cracked my glass
chipped away china
or tarnished brass

swimming in desperation
attempting to break free
mud up my eyes
i can not see

the smell of you
fills my head
i am trapped here
instead.
